What a glorious day it is. A day where wrongs are rectified, and under exposed art finally sees the light of day. We’ve entered this mecca thru DJ Slugo, Chicago Ghetto House arcitech, who just announced that he will be doing a limited vinyl run of unreleased and under exposed songs from his catalog from the 90s and 2000s!
Slugo has been making records for 30 years, enduring a crazy roller coaster of career. He has tons, and I mean tons of records that are brilliant that jus never got the right attention. Record producer, The 83rd, recently got involved to help give those records their proper due, releasing a limited 1000 vinyl run thru his own label, Sermon 3 Recordings. Giving us direct access to some of the craziest records you never heard from the mind of DJ Slugo.
See below:
Included in this treasure chest of sonic gems, is a special never before heard record of DJ Slugo x DJ Deeon in 2002. The two recorded ‘Like It Raw 2002 Remix’ and features fellow ghetto house architect, DJ Deeon rapping on the record. Its something special, reminds me of if Uncle Luke grew up in Southside, Chicago. Fierce. A bouncing and catchy vibe that doesn’t quit, Like It Raw, off The Archive LP is available for streaming currently in Resident Advisor ‘New Tracks’, available to listen here.
You can pre-order the Archive Limited Edition Vinyl LP here.
