ALICE GLASS RELEASES POWERFUL NEW CALL TO ARMS FOR SURVIVORS OF ABUSE

“CEASE AND DESIST” is the name of the song born out of Alice Glass’s own experience as a survivor of sexual, mental and physical abuse. It’s what she told herself to get thru each day and what she’s made public as an expression to help other survivors get thru their own recovery process, in what ever form it may be.

Alice collaborated with producers Jupiter Keyes and Dreamcrusher for CEASE AND DESIST, garnering their perspectives as limitless creatives in the process, which we’re super excited about.

Alice’s full statement concerning her latest release is below:

This song is a call to arms for all survivors. But being a survivor often means feeling afraid, it means sometimes feeling worthless, like you can’t go on. We need to fight back against those who have victimized us and against the feelings that tell us to give up inside. Sometimes we think we deserve the pain others have inflicted on us. This song is what I need to tell myself to get through each day, and what I hope other survivors can remember when they feel like they can’t make it through the darkness of their own recovery. Every day is a fight.

Glass’s recent statement coincides with last fall’s statement, where via her website, Glass told of the abusive relationship she endured while with her former Crystal Castles bandmate, Ethan Kath, detailing multiple cases of sexual, mental, physical abuse and rape at the hands of Kath. Ethan, in return, has filed a defamation lawsuit. Last month it was revealed that the Toronto police department is investigating Kath for sex crimes.

CEASE AND DESIST is the first new single from Glass since last fall’s self-titled solo EP, Alice Glass. Looking forward to hearing the rest of Glass’s new music, slated to come out later this year.
