DJ Slugo to Release Archive Catalog and Drops Single Ft DJ Deeon

What a glorious day it is. A day where wrongs are rectified, and under exposed art finally sees the light of day. We’ve entered this mecca thru DJ Slugo, Chicago Ghetto House arcitech, who just announced that he will be doing a limited vinyl run of unreleased and under exposed songs from his catalog from the 90s and 2000s!

Slugo has been making records for 30 years, enduring a crazy roller coaster of career. He has tons, and I mean tons of records that are brilliant that jus never got the right attention. Record producer, The 83rd, recently got involved to help give those records their proper due, releasing a limited 1000 vinyl run thru his own label, Sermon 3 Recordings. Giving us direct access to some of the craziest records you never heard from the mind of DJ Slugo.

I can’t believe this is real. DJ SLUGO – THE ARCHIVE IS ON SALE NOWWWWW 😱⚰️ β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” SERMON 3 RECORDINGS RELEASES DJ SLUGO’S ARCHIVE ON VINYL. 1000 RECORDS, ONE TIME ONLY. During the 90’s, @djslugomusic was tearing up the Chicago ghetto house scene, creating a specific culture, music and lifestyle around the genre he helped birth, ghetto house. In 2002, Slugo served a bid upstate for a non-violent drug offense. Before leaving, he gave his whole catalog to his manger @teknomafia to hold for him, as he didn’t know when he’d be able to come home. Upon returning to Chicago 3 years later, the city's ghetto house scene he created had all but subsided. Many of the records Slugo made before being locked up were lost in the mix as well, never having a proper label release and never going to vinyl. 16 years later, Sermon 3 Recordings founder and record producer, @The83rd, got involved to help give these classic recordings the attention they deserve, doing a once-in-a-lifetime limited vinyl run of selected records from DJ Slugo’s archive. Fans now have an opportunity to get these records for the first and last time on vinyl. β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€” Click the Bio Link to PRE-ORDER DJ SLUGO – THE ARCHIVE LIMITED EDITION VINYL β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”β€”Releases October 26, 2018 Photos by: @bradsiefert

Included in this treasure chest of sonic gems, is a special never before heard record of DJ Slugo x DJ Deeon in 2002. The two recorded ‘Like It Raw 2002 Remix’ and features fellow ghetto house architect, DJ Deeon rapping on the record. Its something special, reminds me of if Uncle Luke grew up in Southside, Chicago. Fierce. A bouncing and catchy vibe that doesn’t quit, Like It Raw, off The Archive LP is available for streaming currently in Resident Advisor ‘New Tracks’, available to listen here.
